Ever wonder why they feature so many ‘inspirational’ stories in magazines, books and televisions everywhere about youth breaking free from poverty or addiction?
Well, it is because it’s a rare phenomenon and very difficult to achieve…
In life there are those questions that are gray and have no real answer, they can be argued to death with nobody being right or wrong. Methods for being successful, reasons why some kids are better at school and all sorts of criteria for things that are handing you your fate.
Well, seems to me it boils down to one thing; take a step back from your life and see it from all the angles, make a decision, “am I going to be a success or a dumbass,” zoom back into your body and make it happen.
An unusual little green man once said, “do or do not, there is no try” (Yoda) and in the true sense of the words he is absolutely an inspiration. If you can not do it today, you can do it tomorrow, it’s not a one shot deal, but you have to keep trying.
So I say to the ‘troubled’ child, what is your choice? Make it right now, don’t think about it, there is no time. Are you going to continue on your path? Or are you going to make the changes you need to? Weakness gives in to the easier route and that is not badass, it is dumbass.
Do the difficult thing, show up on time, sit in a classroom and listen.
Do the most challenging thing, stand up for your own education.
Do what is most important, treat your parents and teachers with respect.
And most importantly do what is best for you, finish what you start, treat others how you want to be treated yourself, never stop learning and listening and just show up. You will be proud of your achievements and of yourself.
