It takes a lot of energy to evolve and develop yourself. Life is busy enough running around doing the things we need to do without having to do things that are unnecessary.
And if you spend all of your time worrying about other people and what they think, then chances are you are a dumbass and your life is stuck in a holding pattern going around in circles pointlessly. There is no reason for interpersonal conflict and if you are stuck in a situation where you and everyone around you is so focuses on arguing and conflict then you will never experience peace and growth.
Get out of the situation, lose those friends, start doing something different, get a real hobby. Forget about them, and DO NOT make it about you leaving them to cause more trouble. Break the pattern…
You are who you associate with. You are who you listen and learn from. And if your friends and family are not elevating you, then you need to take a step back from the energy vampires in your life and be lonely for a while. Read a book, reevaluate your life goals, sit silently with your phone OFF and face yourself.
Keep in mind that your salary is an average of your five closest friends. So if you really want to do better in life, forget all the BS for real, clear your mind completely of conflict, love the people who help you grow and evolve, put your head down and keep working.
Intelligent people talk about ideas
Regular people talk about current events
Dumb people talk about other people
Interestingly, those who are most worried about relationships tend to be over sensitive in social situations which ends up driving away people. Thus feeling disconnected makes them push away the contact they want.
The power of forming beneficial relationships goes beyond career though and although some friends may have very different backgrounds, the simple pleasure of their company may be enough to warrant an ongoing friendship.
However if they are only concerned with what happened on Americas Next Top Model while you try to discuss the impact of the show on the psycho-sexual behaviours of our society, then perhaps its time to spend less time with them.
